Create a database
Create a MySQL/MariaDB database for your Victus App Hosting or game server from the panel Databases tab, and understand the host, port, name, user and password it hands you.
Most apps — WordPress, PHP sites, Discord bots, plugins — need a database. In Victus you create one directly from the panel Databases tab; there is no separate database console to log into. The panel provisions a MySQL/MariaDB database and a dedicated user, and shows you the connection details.
Create the database
- Open your server in the control panel at control.victuscloud.com.
- Go to the Databases tab.
- Click New Database (create). Give it a name; you can usually leave the "connections allowed from" host as the default wildcard (%) unless you want to restrict it.
- The panel creates the database plus a user and generates a password.
What you get back
| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Host | The database server address to connect to (an IP or hostname). |
| Port | The MySQL port, usually 3306. |
| Database | The database name, often prefixed automatically (e.g. s5_appdata). |
| Username | The generated user with rights on that database only. |
| Password | The generated password (reveal/copy it in the panel). |
Each database you create comes with its own scoped user. That user can only touch its own database, which keeps apps isolated from each other.
Reset or remove
- Rotate the password any time from the Databases tab (Change/Reset password) — update your app config afterwards.
- Delete a database from the same tab; this is permanent and drops all its tables, so back up first.
- If you hit a database limit for your plan, delete unused databases or upgrade the plan in billing.
Treat the generated password like a secret. Store it in your app via environment variables (see "Set environment variables") rather than hard-coding it, and never expose it in files served on the public web.
